The term “development effectiveness” can currently be understood in more ways than one. If you had to offer a definition, would you primarily explain development effectiveness as:
Organizational effectiveness
Policy coherence
Overall development outcomes
Current results

Change begins with an idea…

It is nurtured by research and debate...

And it is realized through action.

It is clear that some changes are needed to make the world a better, safer place. At The North-South Institute, we believe that effective action is based on good thinking. Researchers at NSI initiate and test solutions to urgent global problems and stimulate action for positive change.

Since 1976, The North-South Institute has championed the inclusion of Southern voices and views in international debates. We have worked with partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to plan for development at national and local levels. NSI, in concert with Southern partners, has trained people – from government officials to NGO women’s groups – in ways to enable change.

Your support as a Friend of The North-South Institute will help us to engage partners from North and South in our research and our dialogue with policymakers ... as we work together towards a fairer world.
