The North-South Institute hosted this consultative meeting which brought together a range of stakeholders including development-oriented organizations and foundations, academic and applied research institutions, professional organizations and societies, labor organizations, Indigenous Peoples representatives, persons with disabilities, civil society organizations involved in advocacy and service delivery, and multilateral and bilateral development partners.
The objective of this consultation meeting was to gather input and views to inform the development of the next generation of safeguard policies. An approach paper entitled The World Bank’s Safeguard Policies: Proposed Review and Update, served as the basis for this consultation.
