International Development Week

February 2, 2014

International Development Week (IDW) is an opportunity to explore how Canada and Canadians are making a difference around the world.

For 24 years, IDW, led by Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD), has taken place during the first full week of February. And you are invited to be part of the celebration. Throughout the week you are encouraged to learn more about international development, become engaged, and share your experiences with friends, family, colleagues and your community.

Learn about international development

Did you know that The North-South Institute is Canada’s leading international development think tank? Learn more about international development by visiting our publications section for evidence-based policy briefs and reports on critical global issues.

New to International Development? Our International Development in a Changing World Series features perspectives from a range of Canadian and global experts examining  global change and international development.

Care for a drill down of Canadian aid projects around the world? Visit NSI’s interactive, Canadian International Development Platform.

Consider yourself a  developmentwonk? If so, delve into NSI’s latest report which analyzes the findings of our Post-2015 Tracking Tool to highlight the key themes emerging from post-2015 proposals.

Get social and share:

With community, city-wide, provincial and national issues, we sometimes forget that global poverty and inequality is still a pervasive issue around the world. Take time this week to talk to someone about the importance of international development, or like and share an organization working in development’s page on your social networks. #IDW14
