Roderick (Rod) Macdonell is NSI's Director of Communications. He was previously senior director of public information at the Forum of Federations, in Ottawa, prior to which he was the executive director of the Toronto-based International Freedom of Expression Exchange (CJFE-IFEX). Before that, in Washington, he managed the Investigative Journalism program at the World Bank Institute for several years, training journalists primarily in francophone and anglophone Africa and Southeast Asia. Prior to the bank, he was an investigative journalist and legal affairs reporter for the Montreal Gazette and was a three-time winner of Quebec's Prix Judith-Jasmin, Quebec's highest journalism award.
