Gender Equality Rights and Trade Regimes: Coordinating Compliance

Published: December 4, 2012

This volume of papers emerges from an international symposium on Gender Equality Rights and Trade Regimes, held through cooperation between the APDR project and The North-South Institute.  The symposium examined issues of coordinated compliance in trade and human rights performance, and drew upon normative and structural paradigms of “Selective Adaptation” and “Institutional Capacity.’” The papers were organized according to three themes, poverty reduction, employment, and equality rights. Taken together, the symposium papers and presentations reveal the rich diversity of perspectives and issues emerging from the discourse of Coordinated Compliance with regard to specific issues on gender equality and trade policy.
