This policy brief summarized the findings from the first ever locally-led policy research project on Security Sector Reform (SSR) with a focus on police reform and community security issues in Southern Sudan. It was conducted by the Centre for Peace and Development Studies (CPDS) at the University of Juba, in collaboration with The North-South Institute, and is aimed at contributing to evidence-based policy options for police reform.
