The North-South Institute

Security and Development

The North-South Institute’s program of research on Fragile and Conflict-Affected States, which ran from 2011 to 2013, produced a number of participatory workshops, papers and briefs on important topics related to security and development. The program brought together experts from Europe, Africa and Asia and produced international dialogue and policy recommendations on how to make security sector reform work for local populations; how to strengthen West African female police associations; and how to measure gender sensitivity in post-conflict peacebuilding.
