This document focuses specifically on the emergence and spread of transnational migrant communities in Western industrial  societies. These communities take advantage of the advances in telecommunication and telecommunication technologies and GPNs to construct networked organizational systems that are networking their villages, communities, and regions of origin in their homelands into the global political economy.
