Free Trade Agreements in Peru and Colombia: Monitoring Impacts from a Gender Perspective

This report discusses the importance of monitoring the actual and potential impacts of free trade agreements from a gender perspective at the regional and bilateral levels.

The preport presents a number of approaches for policy analysts, researchers, private and civil society actors interested in undertaking gender impact assessments of international trade in Peru, Colombia and Canada.  It also provides an overview of some of the gender issues arising from trade liberalization in key export sectors in Peru and Colombia and concludes with a set of possible gender sensitive indicators for use  by in-country stakeholders  in examining trade impacts through a gender perspective.
